CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CONTEMPORARY/MODERN

Creative expression, character development, storytelling, an introduction to modern concepts in partnering and floor work, catch and release with fundamentals found in classical technique.

 

JAZZ

Jazz class Alignment, positions of the feet, footwork, isolations, floor work, jumps, turns, flexibility, core training, musical theatre, contemporary jazz & a whole lot of style.

 

 

 

 

 

HIP HOP

Intense strength training, beginning acrobatics and tricks, stalls, strength training in both lower and upper body, commercial dance, Afro-Caribbean styles, and fast footwork.

 

TAP

A combination of both traditional Broadway Tap and highly rhythmic patterns, our tap classes offer skillful training in improvisation and music education as well.

 

Latin Jazz - Tuesday @ 8pm!

BALLET

Traditional barre, center floor, across the floor, flexibility training, feet and ankle strengthening, contemporary ballet concepts, partnering, turns and leaps.

 

PRE-POINTE

Ankle, knee, and hip strength training, basics in ballet with testing toward going up on pointe mid-year. *Students must pass examination in order to train in pointe shoes, and participate in another ballet class in conjunction with pre-pointe.

 

 

 

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Exploratory movement, introduction to character development, expressive freedom, musicality, and interpersonal communication skills through dance and theatre.
